All visits must be scheduled in advance through your realtor or via your Constellation account.

Inside the Constellation Platform, you’ll find real-time updates, photos, and videos of your home’s construction progress.

Once your home is delivered, all manuals and warranties will be available under the ‘Resources’ tab in Constellation.

Use the ‘Service Requests’ section in Constellation to open a ticket, adding photos if possible.

Requests are reviewed within 48 business hours. You’ll receive a confirmation email with an estimated inspection or repair date.

Use the emergency contact listed in your Constellation account. For non-urgent issues, use the portal.

Check ‘My Project’ in Constellation or contact your assigned DCR Homes representative.

Update your profile in Constellation or email homecare@dcr-homes.com.

Maintenance

Discover clear answers to the most common questions about maintaining and caring for your home.

Inspect dryer ducts and ensure they are not clogged. Check connection between dryer and exhaust vent, repair as needed.

Clean or replace range hood filters.

Clean dishwasher strainer, spray arms, and pump. Check dishwasher drain and water connections for leaks.

Inspect refrigerator ice maker supply line and clean if necessary. Refer to the manufacturer’s manual for instructions.

Inspect washing machine water supply hoses for leaks.

Test smoke, carbon monoxide and security alarms, and replace batteries if applicable. Dust and/or vacuum smoke/carbon monoxide detector openings as necessary.

Test and reset all GFCI (Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter) and AFCI (Arc Fault Circuit Interrupter) receptacles.

Check windows and glass sliding doors for smooth opening and closing operation. Clean tracks and weep holes, lubricate as necessary with non-oil-based lubricant. Inspect window screens and repair or replace as necessary.

Inspect exterior doors for peeling and cracking, and touch up where needed. Lubricate hinges and locks if required, adjust door sweeps and replace weather stripping as needed.

Check garage door hinges, springs, rollers, and cables for signs of wear or rust. Tighten hinges and lubricate parts as instructed by the manufacturer. Have the tension adjusted by a certified technician if needed.

Check that there is no standing water in crawl spaces.

Ensure that air supply registers are not blocked by rugs, furniture etc. Clean and inspect bathroom exhaust fans.

Have a HVAC professional inspect and calibrate your heating/cooling system.

Check the ductwork leading to and from the heating system is in good condition, the joints are tightly sealed and any duct insulation/plastic duct wrap is free from tears and holes.

Check for cracks, separations, and mildew in caulking around sinks, bathtubs, toilets, faucets, countertops, and backsplashes, ceramic walls, resilient and ceramic floors, window sills, and any other areas caulked. Clean and recaulk as necessary.

Check cabinet drawers and hinges for proper alignment. Tighten and adjust as necessary. Review the cabinet manufacturer’s recommendations as to proper products to maintain the wood finish.

Inspect tiled areas for loose or missing grout/caulking. Re-grout or re-caulk as necessary.

Have a HVAC professional inspect and calibrate your heating/cooling system.

Check water supply lines and valves to sinks and toilets. Tighten if loose or leaking.

Clean out faucet aerators, spray nozzles, and drains.

Check plumbing fixture pipes and drains for water leakage. Clean drains to avoid backups.

Flush all toilets and run water through all sinks, especially in bathrooms that are not used regularly.

Winterize exterior hose bibs, exposed pipes, and the air conditioning unit.
